About Me

A bit about me...

My love affair with food started at an early age. Some of my fondest memories revolved around food:

  • making the family spaghetti sauce with my grandmother

  • grilling lobster tails and steaks on the back of our sailboat in Narragansett Bay

  • eating cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and blueberries while weeding the vegetable garden

I always knew I wanted to have a successful career preparing food for others to enjoy.

After graduating college I moved to Atlanta and landed a job at the Carter Presidential Center where, among other things, I prepared breakfast for President and Mrs. Carter when they would travel. Their head chef recognized my talent and encouraged me to attend culinary school. I suddenly found my self in the birthplace of the farm-to-table food movement, San Francisco. I attended The California Culinary Academy where just a few miles away is some of the best wine country in the world. I began to understand and appreciate the sublime relationship of good food paired with exquisite wine.

After I finished 2 years of schooling in San Francisco, I returned to Atlanta where I started working as a chef/ house manager for various families. My experience working for each family was unique and I cherished each one. It makes me appreciate the value of a good partnership between myself and the family.

In 2016 I moved back to New England to be closer to my own family. My family owns a thriving small funeral home business in the metro west area of Boston and I’ve become a licensed funeral director assistant. I also have a part time job of managing the local high school kitchen. I’ve enjoyed both career changes but it’s time for me to get back to what I enjoy doing the most - helping a family, who appreciates my unique talents, create an environment in which they love coming home.
